It Must Not Happen
Again!
The 20th Anniversary of Iranian Political Prisonner's
Massacre in Summer 1988
September 19-21, 2008
In 1988, thousands of political prisoners were brutally murdered
by the Iranian government in what has come to be known as "the
1988 Iran massacre." It was the climax of a decade of mass
executions in Iran.
The killings have been called “an act of violence unprecedented
in Iranian history”, unprecedented in form, content, and intensity.
Amnesty international believes these executions amounted to a crime
against humanity.
In order to learn what has happened and is happening to us, the
“Commemorative Committee for 1980’s Massacre of Iranian Political
Prisoners” will hold a 3 day conference on the art and literature
of resistance in Iran's prisons at University de Quebec à Montreal
(UQAM).
